Quality assurance is fundamental to LWI’s business philosophy. We use a three-pronged approach to ensure our customers are receiving the best material available.
Liberty Woods International maintains an office and staff in each of the countries from which we import material – Malaysia, Indonesia, Brazil and China – to ensure our overseas operations run smoothly. This includes an onsite presence of Liberty Woods International exclusive inspectors at our mills in who are trained in grading hardwood plywood to International Hardwood Products Association (IHPA) and Hardwood Plywood and Veneers Association (HPVA) standards. These inspectors are continuously evaluating the material produced to ensure LWI’s strict quality standards are met. Our overseas teams collaborate closely with the mills to minimize packaging of damaged material and are supervising on the ground at the docks when vessels are loading.
Utilizing a diverse supplier base minimizes the impact to our customers of the occasional and inevitable quality issues that will emerge at every mill. Liberty Woods International simply shifts our purchasing from one supplier to another so supply chain disruptions are transparent to our customers.
Finally, LWI’s executive leadership and purchasing team is in constant communication with our suppliers and overseas staff. Several times annually they visit the mills to nourish relationships, address production issues and ensure our business partners are growing their ability to meet our customer demand.
We run a complex supply chain reinforced by quality control measures against which, when compared, our competitors consistently fall short. As with everything we do, Liberty Woods International pursues quality assurance with vigor to maintain our position as the industry leading hardwood plywood importer.
